Dragon Shadows

Am I alone, or does anyone else need a 36 hour day?  Not enough time in the day for all of the things I have to do and still get enough sleep so that I'm not likely to bite off someone's head for some off the wall statement that might get misintrepted during my haze of sleepiness as I trudge through to the next sleep cycle.  In any case I definitely have too many things that I want to do and not enough time to do them.  Well, guess this is were prioritization is a necessary skill but what to put first.  Guess I'll just have to work it out.

Life is always full of such wonderful challenges.  Things that make you want to scream and things that make you want to cry.  Events that can make you laugh so hard your sides hurt or make you think about everything you say and do.  Every philosophy and religion has an opinion about how we should react or deal with challenges. Sometimes the challenges are very enjoyable and sometimes they are the worst thing you can experience.   Yet for all of the different cultures beliefs, and philosophies, some things remain the same no matter what.  Anger is still anger, fear is still fear, pain is still pain, love is still love, joy is still joy, and tears are still tears. I think that one of the most profound quotes I have ever heard was "No one gets out of this life alive." It is sad that its true but it is not the end of our journey nor is it the important part of the journey. No, the important part is that no matter how difficult, complex, tiring, or joyous of a challenge that we face that we remember that the journey itself is what is important. We can ponder the past all we want because it will never change. We can worry about the future and waste our time but that is a choice only we can make. Each of us has the right to make our own choices, right or wrong, good or bad and as long as we are willing to accept the consequences of those choices there is no reason why these choices should be denied.

So to all who visit my site both from a personal or professional aspect, please keep in mind that this is my personal site and my place to express my creativity and display things that are something that I enjoy. Do not assume that my site reflects anything of my professional mannerisms or ethics. I firmly believe in the first amendment and the right to free speech through which I use this web site to express myself in ways that I might not do in life. It is highly unlikely that I would say anything here that I would not be willing to say in a crowded public room. Not everyone is able to handle that kind of direct openness about things but from my experience I would rather be straightforward, blunt, and to the point than to whisper about things in the background. I am not one to stop because my opinion differs from someone else. I was a soldier for several years and my sense of responsibility and duty is very strong. Just because I do not agree with someone does not mean that I cannot work with them or that I am incapable of getting something done. In my mind, unless it is illegal or causes harm to someone there is no reason why my difference in opinion should change my work.

Please enjoy my site and the little bits of electronic nonsense that I have provided but understand that my site is a reflection of my creativity, an experiment in programming, a way to try new things, or to display an interest of mine. Do not take this site as a reflection of me because it is only a part of whom I am. Life away from the computer is so different that you can only find a fraction of what is all of me here. I am much more than the words that I type or the comments I leave and to judge me by them alone only denies the reality that I am more than my site and my site is not all of me.

Well, after another year of neglect the site still remains. Life just gets too busy and I have too many distractions. Maybe this time I will be able to make things work better. At least this time I have new material and even new ideas for the site. So lets see how it goes as I revamp, add, edit, and tweak to make this something worth looking at.

It seems that the site has been neglected for several years now though not intentionally. My main server crashed and I have yet to fix it so rather than leave the site down forever I have brought the site up on a make shift system until I can repair the other.  I had hoped to have it fixed by now as I have tons of stuff on that system that I need.  Anyway, a lot has happened in the past few years.  Our bulldogs grew up and eventually had to leave us due to personality issues with small children and pets.  However, we are now up to three dogs, four cats, and a turtle.  We had some seahorses but an infestation in the tank took them out.  There are various fish running around in different rooms of the house.  I will have to post pictures of the beasts so that everyone can see the family.  I have finished both my Associates Degree and my Bachelors Degree.  At this point, due to turmoil at work I am holding off on my Master's Degree until I see what happens.  I am currently enjoying World of Warcraft for the third year running and have yet to get bored with it.  Beyond just going through everyday life, I think those are the biggest changes to occur.

I finally got the site working from the outside and I've now got a new site design happening.  Frames might be passé but as far as site management goes, it sure is nice to only have to edit content pages and until I get further up to date on my ASP.NET I will just have to deal with this.

Well, its been a long year and from the looks of things, the year still has some more surprises in for myself and my family.  This site has been unavailable for a while but not for a lack of trying but more for a lack of motivation.  I've started school again and with work being what it is, there is very little time left for anything more than family.  With the addition of two new English Bulldog puppies, our life has become very very busy.  But watch closely for more to come in the future.
