It is funny how life never seems to be what it is but is always something that it is not. I took a chance a while back with a poetry contest on poetry.com. Amazingly enough it appears that I managed to get into the semi-finals with one of my older poems.
Virtual DreamsThis will open in a new window. I originally wrote this poem back in 1997 and there are two different versions of the poem. This one is the published version.
For years I have been writing poems, stories, songs, and more but I have never had anything published. Seems I can do rather well writing technical documents but if you have ever read one then you know how fun they are. So I decided that I would take all of the stuff that I had hidden in boxes and tucked away in half remembered places and put them here. They are all my original work so please contact me before you link, copy, print, or otherwise use my material. I can be contacted at storm_rising@msn.com. Sometimes when you ask you do receive, then again sometimes you do not. Never hurts to ask, it does hurt not to ask.
I have to admit that most of the poems on this site are so old that I don't even remember when I wrote them. The ones I do remember have dates on them. For the most part, these poems come from various times in my life when I was experiencing myriads of different things. Some come from when I was separated from my ex-wife, some come from a romance that was blooming, some come from a time of sadness, some from a time of happiness, but no matter the time, they are all from my heart and from within me. Some stink, some aren't so bad. I'm posting them here so you can read them and decide for yourself.
